In the foreword About this Book PG says that most of the essays were first published in
Vanity Fair. He also says that he has worked upon the essays to make them 'fit reading for a cultivated British public'.
Frankly, these essays are not for those who have not yet ventured beyond Jeeves and Wooster (shame on you) but will probably be of interest to the enthusiast. Reading copies are available at reasonable prices.
