* NB: This version is offered on at least one free site as being the 1909 edition and therefore in the public domain (US). The preface referring to the partner book Mike at Wrykyn (first published 1953) is a diagnostic feature backed up by dated references in the text. (All Wodehouse books are under copyright protection in the UK.)

Both Mike and Psmith return in later books - this one gives us a view of the boys behind the men.

The events in this story take place a year after those in The White Feather.
