Perhaps not the best of the Jeeves and Wooster books, but with such a high standard to aim at, it's still a very good read.

The UK edition ends a few lines after the words 'I have already done so, sir.' but the US edition continues in a different direction for another page of conversation. While this extra text seeks to explain Jeeves's actions further it does not affect the plot and could (and should in my opinion) have been omitted. According to Robert McCrum in his biography of PGW, the change was drafted by Peter Schwed, PG's publisher at Simon & Schuster, who also came up with the US title.

'If there was an aisle, she would have rolled in it.'
