A novel

Lord Dawlish unexpectedly inherits a fortune and tries to give half of it away without telling his fiancée Claire. He travels to America to meet the previous heir and finds they have common interests in country life and bee-keeping.

When a Lady dances barefoot and a monkey throws plates at a scullery-maid, it is only a matter of time before Claire changes her mind.
