A short school story

The sight of Reginald Rankin is too much for J. R. Leather-Twigg (known as Shoeblossom), who decides to rag him. Considering Reginald's strong desire for revenge on anyone who wrongs him, this is not a good idea. But neither is rowing a boat out of bounds.

Notes and Quotes

Elliman's
- Elliman's Universal Embrocation, mainly acetic acid and turpentine oil. It is still made.

Capsicum Vaseline
- apparently some form of warming embrocation or liniment, in favour at the time of this story. It was used as a 'counter-irritant'.

Argo
- a reference to the name of Jason's boat in the Greek myth in which he and his 'Argonauts' sailed in search of the Golden Fleece.

Many Cargoes
- a book by W. W. Jacobs, published 1894. Jacobs (1863-1943) was mainly a short story writer.)

The Montresors of the Grange
- sorry, but I cannot find any trace of them.
