Synopsis
Marilynn is a comedy actress, currently unemployed, but looking for work. Her suitor, Jim comes from a wealthy family and wants her to be a country housewife. Finding work in a cabaret, her fellow performers end up impersonating nobility in order to impress Jim's mother. There are also two partners in a music business to provide the comic relief. Recordings
Fascinating Night - Rediscovered Gems from The Early Days of Musical Theatre: Volume I - CD with the song The First Rose of Summer, probably co-written with or adapted from lyrics by Anna Caldwell. (Plus Peter Pan from Have a Heart and May Moon from The Nightingale.)
The Land Where the Good Songs Go - on Harbinger Records, catalogue HCD 1901, containing Shimmy With Me and 15 songs with lyrics by Wodehouse from other shows.

At least two songs with lyrics by Anna Caldwell appear to have been added, allegedly 'borrowed' by Kern from other shows. The First Rose of Summer probably came from She's a Good Fellow, 1919. It is credited in this show jointly to PGW and AC. Ka-Lu-A came from Good Morning Dearie with music by Kern.
