* As these are mistaken for the Empress, they must also be Black Berkshires. Although none are named, we are told that Lord Chuffnell also keeps this breed (Much Obliged, Jeeves). PG seems to have had a fondness for them or possibly known one in particular. Unfortunately, they are now officially a 'rare breed' in Britain - not sufficiently lean or productive for today's market, despite being very tasty (sorry).
